敲門笑話

敲門笑話（英語：Knock-knock joke），是一種英語笑話。以雙關語作為笑點，通常都是由兩人對答而組成。這也是一個角色扮演練習，訓練對答者們的急智。

套路

一個標準的敲門笑話有五句：

1. 甲：Knock, knock!（敲門，咚咚咚！）
2. 乙：Who's there?（是誰？）
3. 甲：x.（x可以是一個物件或人，有時是一個名字）
4. 乙：x who?（x是誰？/哪個x？）
5. 甲：運用雙關語製做出笑話

下例的雙關來自BBC名劇異世奇人（Doctor Who）。

• 甲：Knock, knock!（敲門，咚咚咚！）
• 乙：Who's there?（何人？）
• 甲：Doctor.（博士。）
• 乙：Doctor Who?（哪個博士？/神秘博士（英国科幻電視連續劇））
• 甲：How did you know?!（你怎麼會知道？！）

歷史

這個笑話的一個可能來源是威廉·莎士比亞的《馬克白》，於1606年首次演出。在第2幕的第3場中，行李員與前一天晚上相比非常宿醉。在他的獨白中，他講話時使用「敲門，咚咚咚！是誰？」作為疊句：

Knock, knock! Who's there, i' the name of
Beelzebub? Here's a farmer, that hanged
himself on the expectation of plenty: come in
time; have napkins enow about you; here
you'll sweat for't.

Knock, knock! Who's there, in the other devil's
name? Faith, here's an equivocator, that could
swear in both the scales against either scale;
who committed treason enough for God's sake,
yet could not equivocate to heaven: O, come
in, equivocator.
