NGC 3294是一個位於小獅座的螺旋星系，1787年5月17日由威廉·赫歇爾發現^[5]^[9]。星系距離地球9800萬光年，徑向速度為7006158600000000000♠1,586 km/s^[4]^[3]。NGC 3294屬於SA(rs)bc類星系^[7]。

1990年4月9日，人們在此星系活動星系核以西6995581776417331444♠12″處，以北6994484813681109537♠1″處發現II型超新星SN 1990H^[10]，光變曲線類似於SN 1987A^[11]。1992年2月14日，人們在星系核以東6996130899693899575♠27″處，以南6995509054365165013♠10.5″處發現Ia超新星SN 1992G^[12]^[13]。
