1月
- 1日：里卡多·穆蒂指挥了维也纳新年音乐会的演出，这是他第五次在此登台。Barbara Laister-Ebner在该晚担任西塔琴演奏（曲目：约翰‧斯特劳斯《维也纳森林的故事》，作品325），她是维也纳新年音乐会历史上第一位女性西塔琴演出者[1]。
- 3日：圣安东尼奥交响乐团宣布取消2017年乐季的剩余演出[2][注 1]。
- 8日：La Jolla室内乐协会主席Kristin Lancino辞去（此人事于1月12日生效）。媒体亦报导该协会的夏季音乐节（La Jolla Summerfest）音乐总监林昭亮亦一同离任[5]。
- 10日：伦敦皇家爱乐乐团宣布夏尔·杜特华辞去该团首席指挥暨艺术顾问一职[6]。杜特华原先预计在2019年离任，但随着对他不当性骚扰行为的指控浮上台面，导致了此一局面。
