皮卡地里街(英語:Piccadilly)是英國倫敦的一條主要街道,西到海德公園角,東到皮卡地里圓環。皮卡地里街完全屬於西敏市。這條街是A4公路的一部分,倫敦西部第二個最重要的交通動脈,倫敦地鐵的幹線皮卡地里線便通過此路底下,並因此得名。皮卡地里街東段的南側是聖詹姆斯區,而皮卡地里街的西段只有北側建起了房屋,南側是格林公園。皮卡地里街的北側是梅費爾區。
在皮卡地里街上,有福南梅森食品店、皇家學院、倫敦麗茲酒店和哈查爾茲書店(Hatchards)。 辛普森(Simpsons)曾經位居英國最好的服裝店之列,20世紀30年代開設在皮卡地里街。這個店在1999年關閉,原址現在是水石書店的旗艦店。這個地區擁有許多熱門的夜總會,包括攝政街獨家的「紙」(Paper)夜總會,和萊斯特廣場好客的「聲音」(Sound)夜總會。
歷史
皮卡地里街已有幾個世紀的歷史,但是沒有證據顯示它曾被用作羅馬道路[1]。在中世紀,它曾被喚作「通往雷丁的道路」(the road to Reading)或「由科恩布魯克而來的路」(the way from Colnbrook)[2]。在都鐸時期,沿路兩旁建築開始蓬勃起來,由於衛生環境欠佳,當局曾經出手干預,下令禁止發展,奈何房地產炒賣熾熱,市民都對新政視若無睹[3]。
1559-60年間,英國女王伊麗莎白一世將皮卡地里街附近的土地賜予威廉·多丁頓(William Dodington),一年多後售予一釀酒商,之後輾轉落入一位名為羅伯特·貝克(Robert Baker)的裁縫手中[3] 。貝克以製造及售賣皮卡地里(Piccadill)款式的衣領發蹟,街道亦因而得名。
