Read the Docs是一個支持Sphinx、MkDocs （頁面存檔備份，存於網際網路檔案館）和Jupyter的免費文檔託管平台。[1]
歷史
該網站在2010年由Eric Holscher、Bobby Grace和Charles Leifer創建。[2]
2011年3月9日，Python軟件基金會曾給Read the Docs撥款840美元供服務器託管。[3]2017年11月13日Linux Mint宣布將所有文檔轉移到Read the Docs。[4]2020年，陳和扎克伯格基金會向Read the Docs捐贈20萬美金。[5]Read the Docs在2021年共有7億次頁面瀏覽，以及1.96億的獨立訪客。[6]
2023年，Read the Docs用戶發起了「Write the Docs」會議，後來該會議變成了通用的軟件文檔社區。[7][8][9]截至2022年，該會議仍在舉辦年度國際會議、組織地方聚會，並為「那些關心文檔的人」維護Slack頻道。[10]
