威霍肯 是美國新澤西州哈德遜郡的一個城市。 根據2010年美國人口普查，威霍肯擁有人口12,554人。
名稱
威霍肯這個名字一般被認為來自于勒納佩阿爾岡昆語族。 它可以被被解釋為"玉米地"，"海鷗之地","像樹的岩石"或"結束"。[1][2][3]
歷史
威霍肯於1859年3月15日由新澤西州議會成立為市。在1874年一部分被割讓給霍博肯。 1879年從西霍博肯吞併了一部分地區。[4]
地理
威霍肯是紐約都會區的一部分。 坐落在哈德遜河的西岸，與曼哈頓中城隔水相望,是林肯隧道西端的所在地。[5]
根據 美國人口調查局，該市總面積為1.477平方英里(3.826 公里2)，包括0.796平方英里(2.063 公里2)土地和0.681平方英里(1.764 公里2)水面(46.10%).
威霍肯的人口密度大約相當於澤西市，是美國人口密度最高的城市之一。 [6]
