难熔金属
难熔金属 (英语:Refractory metals ),又称耐火金属 、耐高温金属 、高熔点金属 ,是指特别耐热不易熔化 ,并且具有耐磨 性的金属 。此术语主要是用在材料科学 、和冶金 工程。这些元素 在不同领域中的的定义方式有些不同。最常见的定义方式包括五个元素:两个第五周期元素 (铌 、钼 )和三个第六周期元素 (钽 、钨 、铼 )。这些元素有一些共同性质,包括熔点超过2000 °C 以上,在室温 下具很高的硬度 。由于其化学惰性,不易与其他元素 反应,而其密度 也相对较高。难熔金属因为高熔点,是粉末冶金 方法制造的首选。难熔金属的一些应用包括金属工具,高温工作、丝纤维、铸造模具,或在腐蚀性环境中的化学反应器。部分是由于熔点高,难熔金属在很高温下,也不会有蠕变 变形的情形。
定义
在大多数定义下,只有具有极高熔点的金属元素才会列入难熔金属。根据一项定义,熔点超过4000°F (2200 °C)是必须条件。[ 2] 因此,在这个定义下,铌 、钼 、钽 、钨 和铼 是难熔金属。[ 3] 在更广泛的定义下,所有熔点超过2123 K (1850 °C)的金属都是难熔金属,这样额外多了九个元素:钛 、钒 、铬 、锆 、铪 、钌 、铑 、锇 和铱 。至于锝 和极度不稳定的超重元素 (上图中位于铹 之后的元素,如𬬻 、𬭊 、𬭳 、𬭛 等无法在自然界发现)尽管符合难熔金属的定义范畴,但因其具有放射性 ,所以从来都不被认为是难熔金属,其中锝的熔点已经确认为2430K(2157°C),而𬬻 的预测熔点为2400K(2100°C)。[ 4]
