烤架俱乐部(Gridiron Club)是美国华盛顿哥伦比亚特区一家新闻机构。
历史
烤架俱乐部一度禁止吸纳女会员,也禁止年度晚宴邀请女客人。[1][2]即使国家记者俱乐部于1971年开始接纳女会员,但烤架俱乐部依然我行我素。1972年,烤架俱乐部终于在晚宴上邀请女性,其中包括几位女性国会议员以及科丽塔·斯科特·金和华盛顿邮报出版人凯瑟琳·葛兰姆。 [2]
烤架俱乐部于1975年接纳了第一批女记者成员,其中包括合众国际社的海伦·汤玛斯。[1]海伦·托马斯将在1993年成为俱乐部的第一位女主席。 [3]
原本俱乐部会员主要是平面媒体新闻了为主,后来开始扩大到电视新闻媒体人,例如NBC新闻的提姆·拉瑟特。[4]

Members voted 24 to 17 to permit women as guests but not as members. In 1972, invitation went out to Mrs. Nixon, members of Congress, Katharine Graham, and Coretta Scott King.

The 108th renewal of the Gridiron's white-tie dinner was particularly eventful: Helen Thomas, White House correspondent for United Press International, presided over the gathering as the club's first woman president.
