联合王国及自治领国王兼印度皇帝乔治六世于1952年2月6日驾崩。其葬礼于1952年2月15日在温莎城堡圣乔治礼拜堂举行,并葬于英国英格兰温莎城堡圣乔治教堂皇家墓室,后在1969年3月26日迁入乔治六世纪念礼拜堂。
驾崩
由于烟瘾且二战期间操烦国事,乔治六世患有肺癌、动脉硬化以及血栓闭塞性脉管炎。乔治于1951年9月23日进行了肺部切除手术后不曾完全康复。1952年2月5日,乔治与家人在桑德灵厄姆宫用餐后,于晚上10时30分入睡。次日早上7时30分,乔治被发现已在睡梦中驾崩。之后此消息也以“海德公园角”为代号,经由电话传达至白金汉宫。
葬礼
1952年2月15日,国王乔治六世的葬礼在圣乔治礼拜堂举行,葬于圣乔治礼拜堂皇家墓室。后迁葬于乔治六世纪念礼拜堂。其遗孀伊丽莎白王太后、女儿伊丽莎白二世及玛格丽特公主、女婿菲利普亲王在后来相继葬入乔治六世纪念礼拜堂。
