Purpose
This template facilitates the citation of articles from the American National Biography in the manner of {{Cite encyclopedia}}.

|title=<name of the ANB article>|id=<number>– This is nonstandard and consists of the "article number" (the last set of digits of an ANB doi or biography URL); creates an internal doi if|doi=not present- In the following examples, the bold portion is the ID (1201523).
