English: The diffraction pattern of four pairs of slits taken with light from a sodium lamp, and the open body of a digital camera. The patterns on the left were produced by 0.04 mm slits, the brighter patterns on the right by slits twice as wide. The slit distance was 0.250 mm for the first and the third pair of slits, and 0.500 mm for the second and the fourth pair. The interference fringes are visible up to the first minima of the single-slit diffraction patterns. Photo produced using Pasco OS-9179 |
