English: Gudiao (Gū diāo;, 蠱雕), "poison-eagle". a mythical beast, described as looking like a horned eagle/vulture, from Nan shan jing ( Classic of the Southern Mountains"). It makes sounds like a baby, and devours humans.[1][2] Because of categorization as beast, the 1667 Wu Renchen edition carries an illustration[3] (a close copy of this image) which is like a wildcat with an eagle-head.[1]
